Poker games all ways come up with many variations and unexpected results. The games are not only played by strategies and winning hands but also by sheer presence of mind. I play online poker game for a long and took part in many online tournaments even at the WSOP. In the world tournament it is really a tough challenge. It is not only a play of cards but a mind game every moment. Phil Ivey is such a player who despite of playing a good hand lost at the poker event just because of luck.
Still his poker hand is famous for one of the best played strategies. In 2003 Main Event he was playing against Chris Money maker with a full house of couple of 9s from spade and hearts and also six and queen of spades. Chris had just a combination of A from hearts and diamond queen. Just a turn out of A from spades resulted in the win for Money maker at the WSOP tournament. Had the game gone the other way Phil would have succeeded. This was just a instance as he already holds record of owner’s stake in Full Tilt Poker and has bagged in a prize of $2.5 million.
Such poker games are sensible to witness as you never know what happens next. It turns out to be a game of luck sometimes as you never know the card waiting for you in the river flow but great challenges are always appreciable.
I am an old player in the world of poker and have the experience of many theories and strategies of the game. The game is mastered mainly by the player’s hand combination of cards and player’s skill to play in the right mood and perfect combination. Dead man’s hand is such a combination of immense popularity among the poker players.
This unique combination of cards has a tragic and suspicious story behind it. Actually the combination got such a name from Wild Bill Hickok’s brutal murder when he was playing with this combination. It is a mixture of aces and eight of both the black suits. Specifically it can be considered as the combination of aces of spades and clubs and two black eights. It also includes either the jack or queen of diamonds as the so called “kicker”. Many poker specialists tried to make out the fifth card in Hickok’s hand where as some believe he disposed the last card. The game was so typical that Hickok played a five card with this combination until he was shot dead at the table on August 2, 1876.
It is a tribute to the great player to name the combination with the suspicious incident happened with him. He is no more but poker fans still remember how he played a beautiful knock to fetch a draw. IT is a sheer depth of confidence which helped him to play with such a combination and skill.
